Websites for a more conscious world.

I design, build and look after websites for non-profits, NGOs and mission-driven organisations. I work on the project with you, from the first conversation to launch. After that, I can keep looking after the site, or train your team to do it.

What I do

This is the heart of my work: I design, build and look after websites for non-profits, NGOs and small organisations working for change.

Websites

Designing, building and looking after your website, with the tools your organisation needs.

  • Building your site

I build your site with WordPress, which I’ve used for more than ten years. I add the tools your organisation uses every day: online donations, memberships, a members’ area, an events calendar, a volunteer form.

  • Design and accessibility

Your site should be easy to read and easy to use, on a phone or a computer, however people browse. It follows your visual identity, and visitors find what they’re looking for quickly.

  • A lightweight site

A lightweight site loads quickly, even on a slow connection. It also uses less energy: every image, script and page has a cost, often higher than we realise. So I make technical and visual choices that leave out what isn’t needed. For organisations trying to change things, it’s also a question of being consistent.

  • Search engines

I take care of your site’s structure, text and speed so that search engines understand it well. I can’t promise results, but I make sure you start on a good footing.

  • After launch

There are two options. I can keep looking after your site: updates, backups, fixes, new pages as your projects grow. Or I can train your team so you can run it yourselves. It’s up to you to choose what suits you best.

Alongside the website

Some content needs to live beyond your website too: in a newsletter, in an annual report, on paper.

  • Words and content

I can help you write or reorganise the text on your site. The idea is simple: explain what you do in words your audience understands.

  • Reports and brochures

An annual report or a brochure often needs to exist both online and on paper. I lay them out so they stay consistent with your website.

  • Newsletters

A newsletter template in your colours, easy to read on a phone or a computer, to keep your members and supporters up to date.

  • Flyers and posters

A poster or a flyer needs to make sense at a glance, on a wall or in someone’s hand.

  • Visual identity

A logo, colours, a typeface, and a few simple rules for using them. Your website, documents and posters are then recognisable at first sight.

What I stand for

One point of contact
You work directly with me throughout the whole process of creating your website. It’s simple, direct and human.
The right scale
Every project is different. I help you choose the solutions that make sense for your organisation.
Light by design
A lightweight website is fast, pleasant to use and, above all, uses fewer resources. It also stands a better chance of being well indexed by search engines.
French and English
I can design and write your site in both languages, properly adapting the text rather than translating it word for word.

About

I trained in building websites in 2003. Twelve years later, my hobby became my main work.

Portrait of Hedia on a gold background

Hedia Media is my independent practice. I build websites for non-profits, NGOs and mission-driven organisations, and I can also help with content and print.
